when it comes to using shears or pruners, i make it a point to shift my weight from one foot to the other from time to time. i know it's pretty basic but a lot of people tend to forget it and they wonder why they get muscle pains at the end of the day.

I wonder if anyone knows what this could be.

The cycle would begin with the yellowing of the leaves with dark spots on it, which I'd chop off. If I didn't catch them in time, they'd just dry to a crisp and fall off if you touched them. While they didn't seem to affect tomato production by any noticeable standards, they were unsightly.

This seems to be accompanied by lumps on the stems too. It's as if there are hard bubble under the skin of it. They're not discolored or anything, just small freckle sized raised lumps and could run the whole length of the tomato plant.

I tried various sprays and Seven Dust but it just seemed that once it got a hold, there was no stopping it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. :)

Just me then? Geesh...ok, I'm half joking! :D

What we did with ours was we made a wooden stake and tied a long length of garden string very securely to it. The string was staked in the ground at one end and tied to a big old oak tree in our yard, about six feet up off the ground around a sturdy branch. From tree to stake, we had the heavy string running in a downwards sloping diagonal line that was probably about twelve feet long.

We planted just a few cucumbers at the low ground level stake end, and then trained them up the string, which they latched on to beautifully. Because we harvested nearly every day, it never got too heavy to break but what a sight it is to see! It's a lot of fun and something that everyone comments on, plus saves precious space on the ground. :D

Hi! Probably a silly question, I know, but last year I bought a butterfly bush that was on clearance in early Summer. You know the kind you buy where they're encased in plastic and sold in a narrow cardboard tube with the picture on it? Well, I can't resist a bargain so I snapped it up. :D

Anyway, I dutifully soaked the roots before planting and followed all the instructions to the letter, only to be rewarded with nothing but basically the same stick I started with by the end of the year.

What could have been the reason do you think? Was I too eager expecting to see even a hint of growth on it? It had a fist sized root ball on it and was about six inches high. Could it just have been "past it"?

Thanks in advance! :)
